Be happy with small things

Today I have an example of to being happy with small and often negligible things. I was at my office, working hard as every day, and my boss phone me. He was worried about a big project that I am managing, and particularly about a supplier that could be less commited than what we thought. He asked me very hungry about that.

My answer was simple: you trusted me when we contracted five months ago, so you have to trust me now, the men is serious, he will not fail.

Then he answered: ok, I believe in you. You always get the goal, you are a “safe man”, what was I thinking when I came afraid?.

OK, this are the simple things that make me happy. Do you?

Three secrets to be happy with your job

All we have a work but not to all of us our work make us happy. Often there are problems. Sometimes is the work itself and sometimes because of companions, heads, or employees are making us unhappy. Often these problems cause that the people desperately look for change their work. However, there are forms to be happy with our work without waiting for the dreamed work that is going to arrive tomorrow. After a deep meditation, analyzing own and other people’s experience, I have found the three keys, the three secrets that allow a person to be happy with their work although it is not the ideal work.

Joy
If we do not make the work with joy, although is a work that we do not like, instead of work it will become a hell. To rise in the morning every day will be a gigantic task, thinking about which it hopes to us. Nevertheless, the joy causes that all the problems happen to background. I know that it is difficult to put joy when the work we don’t like or when we have many problems. However, it is not impossible. If one watches around and sees that the work is a road, and to run this road with good humour will make it easier, then the joy appears in our spirit. We do not have to let take us by the sadness. Day 1 of April is the International Day of Diversion at Work. http://www.playfair.com/fun.htm In this Web there are ideas to celebrate it.

To give more than received
One of the secrets is to give more than we receive. If we only work to have money to live, we must return other services or intangible goods in compensate by the money that they give us, beyond making our work of the most possible perfect way. The reason of this is a physical reason. If we give more than what they pay to us, the universe becomes rich, we contributed to the wealth of everything that surrounds to us. In this way, we improved the species and we improved our surroundings. Surely, this improvement will be repaid by the nature to our favour.

Knowing that will be difficulties
All we know that in our work there will be difficulties always. Nevertheless the difficulties surprise to us, we felt bad, we put ourselves sad or gotten depressed when they happen. However, all we know that always eventually they are going to happen. Then why we feel bad and we anger with our luck when it happens? In the 21st century the jobs that are occupied by people those have the ability of the human being to solve surprise and unexpected difficulties. All the other jobs are going to be occupied by machines. Therefore, it is a blessing that difficulties arise. This is the reason we have a work, that simple. Nevertheless, we react bad when face them, got angry, stress ourselves and feel like the unfortunate people of the world. Moreover, it is not a idealisation. It is the reality. If problems, defects and other disadvantages happen, we must know that thus it is going to be and for that we are, and there will occupy the place that really corresponds to us.

In summary, these three things are those that will make us happy in our works, by most routine that seems. Give joy, give more than they pay us, and to confront the problems with joy and creative talent. Let us apply this advice and every day we will work with a smile. The world will be better for us and for those that surround to us.

Do you like your job?

This recurring question always follows me. I worked in many countries and in different positions. I have had jobs in small and big companies. I have had secondary jobs, and very well expected positions. Nevertheless, always the question is the same: do I like my job?

Now the answer is a sound yes. Mi actual job is a Project Manager position. I have the complete responsibility for planning, procurement, construction and commissioning of a big electrical infrastructure project. But these are not the important question.

The position itself is an exciting job. I have to consider many aspects. I feel that all the work is in my back, and failure and success is in my mind. I have a very skilled team, and this is a great support for me, but my feelings are that all the sort of the work will depend of my creativity.

I feel happy with this responsibility. I feel very happy. I am very glad with this destiny. Moreover, I am working very hard to success.
