You are close to lose your internet connection

In these days the term is being overcome that with theatricalities Microsoft gave to Yahoo to come to his purchase, that is to say, to accept its supply of 44 billion dollars.

If Yahoo finally accepts, Internet will be leave what it is, and the crop of the monopoly definitively will be implanted in it. It is not a solely question of businesses, we were not beleave that caramel. It is much more. It is to let have a free atmosphere to contaminate it with more of the same, the money behind catching the good intentions only to reproduce, without adding nothing new.

Today there are three great poles of development in Internet: Google, Yahoo and of course Microsoft, after it to have denied and to have vilipended years back. If this purchase takes shape they will be left only two. It will be a loss that we will be sorry always.

It is very clear for me that if the future of Internet depends on fusions or mega acquisitions, already Google had seized of Yahoo a long time ago, has the power, attractive and the banking account to do it. Pero Google thanks to God chose to grow thanks to inventiveness, creativity, and good ideas. Not by means of the money only.

But Bill is Bill and he will never change. God frees to us.

Yes, you can say how it is possible?. But I have to explain it. When internet began to be massive, in the first part of 90s, I have a lot of expectations about it. It was so new, so amazing, that it could be called a humankind dream. Of course it is not so important, but a lot of hopings were made reality.

First of all, productivity gre up to limits never known. I have a lot of things in my everyday work that its impossible to think to make them without internet. Second, communications. A lot of com tools were developed to reach a high performance connecting people all around the world.

And third, culture. A big librarian free for all and collecting every day a lot of documents, papers, articles, knowledge that is being disseminated around the globe and for all people who can read.

Yes, internet makes me happy.

Be happy with small things

Today I have an example of to being happy with small and often negligible things. I was at my office, working hard as every day, and my boss phone me. He was worried about a big project that I am managing, and particularly about a supplier that could be less commited than what we thought. He asked me very hungry about that.

My answer was simple: you trusted me when we contracted five months ago, so you have to trust me now, the men is serious, he will not fail.

Then he answered: ok, I believe in you. You always get the goal, you are a “safe man”, what was I thinking when I came afraid?.

OK, this are the simple things that make me happy. Do you?

Ten tips to get a good country

I have read a very interesting article by Carlos Alberto Montaner in the daily newspaper. It refers to what is meant by good governance globalized. Montaner cited ten measures that must play a modern government to make progress and let its people to live in freedom and development.

The ten points Montaner point as those that identify a developed country are:

- Avoid hand over to the state bureaucracy the control of the economy. They are clumsy.

- The currency must be strong to allow savings. This basically requires good management of public finances.

- English is the language of globalization and the computer is the most commonly used vehicle. Encouraging these two things is the duty of local authority.

- All things that benefit the transfer of technology and knowledge are positive, which are damaging them are negative.

- The operation of state and private companies should be transparent and should be accessible to the audits.

- Among the worst enemies of prosperity is the discretion of public officials that allow them to reward friends and punish enemies.

- The main function of the state is not charity but exercise to purposely create conditions in which people can currently make progress on their own.

- Inviting foreign capital and leave the economic nationalism.

- Promoting investment in human capital abroad.

If we can celebrate or criticize each government decision considering their guidance by this ten precepts, I think that each country could be more serious.

April fools day originals

Well, I do not how many people like April Fool Day jokes, but sometimes there are surprising and can astonish some people. This is my case with two blogs: John Chow and Democracy Centre

The first refers to a new launch: official Coca branded with John Chow. It could be believable, but in fact when you know that AFD is coming, you are prevent to take it seriously.

However, my problem is with the second one: The post reveals, with many details, the upcoming plans of Halliburton to take over a great part of Bolivian country. It describes what they plan to do, and what is coming to happen with some symbols like the flag and the Magnificas. (Uah uah, take a look…)

It is false, but can be true. I suspect that people in Democracy Centre know very well the Bolivian country political situation, and this joke is not really a joke. It can be true, and this is the tragedy behind the joke.

I think that this people have to take into account the realities when making a false new, because reality could be worst than the worst of the nightmares.

Three secrets to be happy with your job

All we have a work but not to all of us our work make us happy. Often there are problems. Sometimes is the work itself and sometimes because of companions, heads, or employees are making us unhappy. Often these problems cause that the people desperately look for change their work. However, there are forms to be happy with our work without waiting for the dreamed work that is going to arrive tomorrow. After a deep meditation, analyzing own and other people’s experience, I have found the three keys, the three secrets that allow a person to be happy with their work although it is not the ideal work.

Joy
If we do not make the work with joy, although is a work that we do not like, instead of work it will become a hell. To rise in the morning every day will be a gigantic task, thinking about which it hopes to us. Nevertheless, the joy causes that all the problems happen to background. I know that it is difficult to put joy when the work we don’t like or when we have many problems. However, it is not impossible. If one watches around and sees that the work is a road, and to run this road with good humour will make it easier, then the joy appears in our spirit. We do not have to let take us by the sadness. Day 1 of April is the International Day of Diversion at Work. http://www.playfair.com/fun.htm In this Web there are ideas to celebrate it.

To give more than received
One of the secrets is to give more than we receive. If we only work to have money to live, we must return other services or intangible goods in compensate by the money that they give us, beyond making our work of the most possible perfect way. The reason of this is a physical reason. If we give more than what they pay to us, the universe becomes rich, we contributed to the wealth of everything that surrounds to us. In this way, we improved the species and we improved our surroundings. Surely, this improvement will be repaid by the nature to our favour.

Knowing that will be difficulties
All we know that in our work there will be difficulties always. Nevertheless the difficulties surprise to us, we felt bad, we put ourselves sad or gotten depressed when they happen. However, all we know that always eventually they are going to happen. Then why we feel bad and we anger with our luck when it happens? In the 21st century the jobs that are occupied by people those have the ability of the human being to solve surprise and unexpected difficulties. All the other jobs are going to be occupied by machines. Therefore, it is a blessing that difficulties arise. This is the reason we have a work, that simple. Nevertheless, we react bad when face them, got angry, stress ourselves and feel like the unfortunate people of the world. Moreover, it is not a idealisation. It is the reality. If problems, defects and other disadvantages happen, we must know that thus it is going to be and for that we are, and there will occupy the place that really corresponds to us.

In summary, these three things are those that will make us happy in our works, by most routine that seems. Give joy, give more than they pay us, and to confront the problems with joy and creative talent. Let us apply this advice and every day we will work with a smile. The world will be better for us and for those that surround to us.
